It rained most of the night. With 100% humidity it’s hard to keep anything dry. A lot of wet gear, but all still working great. I wouldn’t want to be out here with cheap gear. 

Today the trail entered some of the areas hit by last seasons wild fires. Coupled with the fog, mist, and clouds, the scorched landscape got to me. For the first time my head wasn’t in the game. 

The I remembered…”Embrace the suck!”

As soon as I changed my perspective, the clouds began to lift.  The terrain was not demanding on my legs today. My feet paid the price. So many rocks and mangrove type roots. Despite the challenges, I covered 12.5 miles in 6.5 hours. 

Attitude is a choice. Choose wisely.
