The Inn at the Biltmore Estate is awesome. Way better than even the Cadillac of tents, with the best gear. Fresh made breakfast, coffee, and juice. I was ready for a nap by 9:30.

But it was off to town. Hiker chores never end. I needed to visit an outfitter for some new boots, another pair of socks, and compression sleeves for my knees. It’s amazing the wear and tear 300 miles of hiking takes on gear. Not to mention ones body and mind.

Along the way, we found several breweries, in walking distance. One World, Hi-Wire, and Asheville Brewing were all very cool. All located in downtown. All pet friendly…so I was able to say “hey” to some four-legged friends.

Then off to wine tasting and Cedric’s Tavern on the Estate. Plus lots of strolling, chatting, and being amazed by the surroundings. And boy did I stay up late…made it to 10:00.

Tomorrow…off to tour the Mansion.
