After an excellent breakfast buffet, it was off to tour the Biltmore. We succeeded in catching the first shuttle and were in the first group of people to enter the house. They say it’s the largest publicly owned Estate in the USA.
What a place! Everywhere you looked was a priceless museum piece. Everthing from furniture, artwork, tapestries, to books. They were also displaying a Hollywood movie costume exhibit.
Then we moved outside to the gardens. It was amazing. Flowers and shrubs in full bloom. We hiked down to the bass pond, through the azalea garden. After our fill, it was back to the Inn.
It wasn’t long before we decided to go out for a BrewHike. First stop…Sierra Nevada. A huge, new building with great beer and awesome food. Pork belly and duck fat fries.
Then off to Wicked Weed. Salad and skirt steak for dinner. A few beers and a growler fill. I have some Imperial Stout for the trail.
It was a great day! Many thanks to Mrs. Growler for coming to visit. Love you!
