Another wet morning. I must of been whipped. I slept until 8:30. Coupled with the cold, I wasn’t ready to hike until 10:00. Again, off into the mist. Uphill of course.

After an hour in the soup, I thought to myself “this weather sucks”. Then I realized it was my “suck”. It was mine to do with what I pleased. I cranked the tunes, challenged myself to push harder, and danced down the trail.

In the afternoon, the clouds broke. I actually saw blue sky today!  I pushed hard up the two climbs today. It’s to the point I can power up the small to medium inclines. Slow up the big hills and still struggle with the long, steep pitches. My stride is longer than I thought possible. I’m pleased with my pace.

Now I just need to work on keeping that pace for a few more hours a day. My plan is stay in the 14-16 miles per day until I feel strong enough to advance a few more daily miles.

Another thunderstorm just after dark.

Hopefully, the last of the rain for the night.
