Had the opportunity to meet Miss Janet last night. She is a legendary AT Trail Angel and shuttle driver. Truly a nice lady who will go to great lengths to help hikers.
Today was my earliest start yet. Not real early. On the trail at 9:15. Covered the first 3.5 miles in two hours. Ramrock Mountain is no joke. It was a decent climb. Felt it for sure.
At Woody Gap I was greeted with more Trail Magic. The fine people from Glenloch Baptist were serving lunch by a warm fire. Two hot dogs, chips, raisins, and water. They will continue to wish the best for the hikers.
Then it was up to Preachers Rock. Another big climb. I was sucking wind. The decent wasn’t easy either. My legs were tired and ready to be done when I reached camp.
Tomorrow…Blood Mountain. Up and over to a shower, laundry, and a night in a bed.
I love all the support you are seeing along the trail
