Boy howdy…last night it rained. And rained. And rained. I am so glad I was in the shelter. Then I was blessed with blue sky this morning. I love it when a plan works in my favor.
Now off to town. Well not quite town. More like a highway exit.
The first half of the hike was a chore. Steep hills and more of those sharp rocks. Thankfully the second half was more enjoyable. Smooth trail, raging creeks, and peaceful pasture lands.
Myself and ” KurDog” reached the exit about the same time. We dined on the Hiker Burger at the greasy food diner. It was a 16 ounce monster. KurDog is leaving the Trail for a few weeks to attend a graduation. He was nice enough to offer me a ride down the road to a motel. One that is above the “hiker hostel” rating.
Julie and Jeff are coming to visit tomorrow. I’m a day early. So I guess I get some extra rest. Or have time for hiker chores at a leisurely pace.
Either way…it’s always awesome to see family!
We are very excited to come see you too!
Awesome! Great to hear the kiddos are dropping in for a visit!
