It was a long, hot day of hiking. We were on trail by 7:00 and made good time in the morning. As the day wore on and the temps climbed, my pace slowed. Water management was also an issue today. Thankfully there was enough water!

The above picture is the Washington Monument. Billed as the original monument. You can climb it and get a great 360* view of MD and the surrounding states. We also had a few good views from several rock outcroppings. All and all, a good day on the trail. 

The rocks wore me out. It’s early to bed!
